Hello,
I’m trying to establish connection between EC4P and PC using easy800-USB-CAB. I After I press “Online” in easy Soft CoDeSys I get an error saying: Communication Error (#0): Logout Performed.
What can cause this error?

Check out the manual here:
ftp://ftp.moeller.net/DOCUMENTATION/AWB_MANUALS/h1584g.pdf
Page 14 & 15 talk about the ports and cables required to program the EC4P

Hi
My proposal: Visit Easy Trainingscenter and take a look in Lesson 2 (Animation on programming). This is a show how to transfer the Programm to the EC4P and how to start it.
Link to the Lesson: click here (http://trainingscenter.moeller.net/basics/easySoft-CoDeSys/programming-with-easySoft-CoDeSys/lesson2.html?multiLocaleId=_en&stamp=1234440310382)

Hello,
please give us more information about your configuration.
easy Soft CoDeSys has generally a problem with COM ports > 9.
What's your configuration in "Communication parameters" dialog?
Do you see the COM port mapped by the driver in the windows hardware configuration?

Softwerker59:
Hello,
Yes, I see COM port in hardware config. It has number 7.
Here is port config:
bps: 57600 (have tried others)
data bits: 8
parity: none
stop bits:1
flow control: none (tried changing it)
Config in "Communication parameters" is exactly the same.

We have never had luck with this. We use EU4A-RJ45-CAB1 for setup. Even not to hard to make your own by cutting standard Ethernet cable and soldering to DB9 connector...

Could you be so kind to show the pin-out?
-
Your settings seems normal.
Today I have installed the driver (Installation CD V1.03) under Windows XP.
Is was mapped to COM7 and I have no problems to connect to EC4. In CoDeSys communication parameters dialog I've selected "Serial(RS232)" with 38400, no parity, 1 stop and flow control off.
Did you follow the installation hints?
- 1st the driver
- then plug in the cable
- 2nd the brigde (comes twice!!!)
-
Softwerker59:
Yep, eveything was installed in the correct manner.

If you use the diagram on the manual I linked to before on page 14 for the RJ45 Connector
DB9 Pin 2 -> RJ45 Pin 5
DB9 Pin 3 -> RJ45 Pin 8
DB9 Pin 5 -> RJ45 Pin 4
I am trying to attach picture of this poor man's cable

Thanks a lot. I'll try to solder it.
