Titel: 12-bit resolution

I wonder if it's possible to use MD95 and MD96 as general purpose 12-bit A/D inputs, or are they strictly temperature only inputs that require Pt100 devices to operate properly?

Hi
May be I don't understand your question exactly. But I mean you want to know, if MD 95 and MD 96 are strictly for temperature  inputs only. No, they aren't. You are completely free to connect the temperature inputs to any markers. Was this your question ?

My question was related to 12-bit resolution of analog inputs IA01 and IA02 in "Temperature modules" MFD-TP12 or MFD-TAP13 series.

MFD-TP12-PT-A
MFD-TP12-PT-B
MFD-TP12-NI-A
MFD-TAP13-PT-A
MFD-TAP13-PT-B
MFD-TAP13-NI-A

Can I use their 12-bit analog inputs IA01 and IA02 as generic 12-bit A/D inputs (rather than "temperature" inputs only)?

I’m afraid rather no :(. The temperature inputs are calibrated for PT and NI resistants. If somebody else is not agreeing with this opinion, a better response is welcome.

Thanks KressSwiss - would be interesting to see a schematic of IA01 and IA02 front-end to figure out what does it take to adopt it to say 0-10V "real" 12-bit A/D  ;)

Anybody from Moeller willing to comment on this (or increase a resolution of easy800 series 0-10VDC inputs to 12-bits)?

Hi John Ess
I'm not really sure but i think Easy PT100 Input (MFD-TP12-PT-A -40..90)  are working like this:
- 40 Celsius = 84,27 Ohm = Binary 0
+ 90 Celsius = 134,7 Ohm = Binary 4095

I' calculated this values by:
http://www.pt100.de/widerstand.htm

May be it helps you

In my opinion temperature inputs aren't voltage inputs. I think they are rather "resistants inputs".
