I am currently using the web client to monitor and operate a controller as administrator.
I have access to many things, however, the DEVICE NAME field under the GENERAL tab of the SETTINGS menu is READ ONLY.
The manual indicates this field is writeable for administrators...
What can be done to make this field writeable by the administrator while using the webserver?

No te des mal, se han producido muchos cambios en el dispositivo desde su origen, actualizar los cambios en todos los manuales es una tarea enorme y no se hace bien. Eso, en un principio pudo ser así pero ya no. Tampoco hay necesidad de hacer eso que dices ¿le ves alguna utilidad?
Este producto tiene muchas cosas buenas, centrémonos en ellas. Protestaremos por lo que no funcione, haremos propuestas de mejora y la vista gorda en pequeños fallos que no perjudiquen al funcionamiento. Es un producto vivo, hay que animarles a su desarrollo.

I want to be able to edit the device name so that end users using the device may be able to assign their own device names, in order to differentiate easily from one controller to another when they are sent email alerts for alarm conditions. Our product will be used where more than one controller will be operating on any given site. Besides, the manual states it is possible. What can be done to make it possible?

Hola Simón, mira la imagen que nos muestras y observa la versión de firmware. Si revisas los manuales, comprobaras que la imagen obsoleta se repite según el idioma hasta lo más reciente. En el pdf, adjunto, intento demostrar el momento en el que se produce el cambio. Lo que no existe, no existe.

From your PDF, it seems that the ability to edit the device name from the webserver was discontinued from FW 1.12 and onward?
I am using FW 2.0 on hardware version 8, and programming with Easysoft 8.
The manual I am using is issued for easysoft 8, and indicates that the device name is writable from the webserver. It does not specify a FW version compatibility.
Is this a glitch in the Eaton webserver?
