Titel: Pico Soft (AB) vs Easy Soft (Moeller)
Beitrag von: pluk77 am April 02, 2006, 17:55:33 Nachmittag
The Moeller Easy controllers seem to be similair to the Allen Bradley Pico controllers. http://www.ab.com/en/epub/catalogs/12762/2181376/2416247/1239730/3676481/index.html

It also seems that the downloadable Pico software works for the Moeller Easy controllers.

This is according to an slightly outdated forum post http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/archive/index.php/t-10783.html

I do not have a controller yet and am currenlty investigating which brand to buy. If both controllers are the same and Pico Soft really works on both brands, that the choice boils down to the price of the controllers.
By the way, I am looking at the 719-DC-RC or 719-DA-RC for an outdoor Jacuzzi water temperature controller that controls the electical heating, solar heating and pumps.

Are there any readers who have experience with both brands of controllers? And does Pico Soft really work on the Easy Controllers?

I don't believe that the PicoSoft supports all of the Moeller Controllers.

However, any of the Pico Controllers from Allen Bradley are in fact made by Moeller and private labeled for AB.  I was under the impression that the softwares were not compatable with the other brand controllers.  I have never tried.  I work for a Moeller Distributor in the Mid-West United States so I have had no need for the AB versions.

I am going to buy a Moeller Easy719, but would like to know if the Pico Soft could be used to program this unit. Could you test if the downloadable version of Pico Soft works for the Easy719? Have you tried using the Pico Software?

I have programmed one in the Demo software from Moeller and the file was fully usable in Pico Soft. So it seems like it is going to work for me (but the proof is when I actually get the unit and connect it)

Wanted to share this with you.

I finally got my Moeller Easy 719-DA-RC and have succesfully used Pico Soft 6.10 build 2433 to connect and program my unit.

No need for me to buy the expensive Easy Soft  ;D as Pico Soft is completely FREE.
