Hi,
I’m using EasyE4 controllers extensively in teaching, mainly with students who are new to PLCs.
I would like to suggest a small but important usability improvement for future versions of the software. It would be very helpful if the default firmware selection when creating a new project could be Firmware 1.0, or at least allow setting it as a default.
The reason is practical: students very often just click “Next” without paying much attention to the firmware selection. In our setup, we have a mix of controllers. Some units cannot be updated beyond firmware 1.4, while others are running the latest firmware.
The issue is that it is always possible to move up in firmware if the project is created with 1.0 selected, but it is not possible to move down if the project is created with firmware 2.x. This regularly causes confusion and unnecessary problems during lessons.
Starting with firmware 1.0 as the default would make the workflow much more robust in an educational environment with mixed hardware.
Thanks for a great product, and I hope you’ll consider this suggestion.
