analog inputs

Hi!

In my application I need analog inputs, but these must to be of 4 to 20 mA, my question is  Is safe put an external 500 ohms resistor?  Because some people said me that this doesn’t safe.

May be it's not as save as a real 4-20 mA Input. A real 4-20 mA is "wire brake save". I'm not sure if the solution with a reststor has this feature.

The "Wire break safety" is still active. The detection of the wire break is done on the receptor side.
