Ethernet communication
« am: Mai 11, 2004, 15:32:18 Nachmittag »
I am wondering if somebody had communication thru Ethernet with Easy using the Lantronix cobox. I read the application note I tried to manage the DTR and the RTS signal (+/- 12 V)  but without any success so far. I am able to download (access) the .cob file into Lantronix Iserver but I can not get the serial communication between cobox and easy.

I will apreciate any help!

Thank you.

In 2002 I used CoBox-DR1 as a Webserver with an EASY 600.
It was working fine.
Today I had a short recheck.Function was still o.k.
I think first we should compare our connection cable pinout.
An external power supply is not needed.
My cable:
EASY PC-CAB                                     COBOX RJ45
DB9
PIN 2----------------------------------------PIN 3(RXD)
PIN 3----------------------------------------PIN 4(TXD)
PIN 4----------------------------------------PIN 5(GROUND)
PIN 5----------------------------------------PIN 5(GROUND)
PIN 7----------------------------------------PIN 7(RTS+12V)
EASY PC-CAB optocouplers are working well without -12 V.
Connect this PIN 4 to CoBox GND PIN 5.
Presently I use my CoBox as a device server to have communication using EASY-Soft via LAN with EASY400/600/800.
If you need further information for configuration post it.
Regards,
Julian

Thank you for your reply. I am having the same pins configuration as you described in your message (actully I had the same configuration before just using -12 V insteat of 0V)but I still have communication problems. I know that the Lantronix cobox DR1 is working fine, I am able to 'talk' with PS4 only with the Easy I got problems. Could you please let me know what .cob file are you using?

Thank you again!

The loaded Cob files don't have a version No.
Moeller creating date is april 12.2002. for all.
An additional information for you.
I loaded:
classes.cob to WEB1(CoBox)
function_classes.cob to WEB2(CoBox)
htm.cob to WEB3(CoBox)
CoBox Firmware Version = 5.20
My OS = Win2000prof.
Proxyserver is disabled.
Do you have rechecked CoBox Portnumber(10001) and serial settings?

Julian

Thank you again for your help !
I have just reviewed this project and now is working fine - it was a ground problem (0 V) - but I still have trouble connecting with Easy soft or dll application thru Internet using Lantronix port Redirector - and always I am receiving the  Receipt memory is full error (-1161 -). Do you have any idea what can be?

Thank you!!

Dodo

PS. I am using the Lantronix port redirector - setup IP address and TCPport: 3001

dodo1370,
during the past I had got some trouble with older Lantronix redirectors in cojunction with EASY-Soft.
Please use the newest version 2.2/2.
Some important points:
-Set port No. to 10001.
-Check redirector mode raw box only.
-Select in EASY-Soft menue the redirected com.port and set baud rate to 9600 only.
Never I got communication with 19200 baud.
-If you use a router the proper gateway adress must be set.

Please have a look to the screen shots of my current configuration.
Regard,
Julian
