i have been using a adam 4571 ethernet gateway in conjunction with a 618 ac-rc for quite some time.
Now i changed this for  a 819 ac -rc
The problem is that i can can get communication with the 8 series but cannot download programs
Most annoying ...
Is there anyone who knows the possible culprit?

Just a few suggestions:

As far a I know there exists different Download cables for the 600 and 800 series of easy.

The CPU type should be changed in the project properties as well as the correct firmware version should be entered in the same dialog.

Pinout of both pc- cables DB9 plug is identical.
I use only one adaptor cable connecting my device-servers to EASY400/600 or EASY800 & MFD.
I think the major difference is baud rate.
For EASY400/600 is fixed to 4800.
For EASY 800/MFD is user selectable 9600 or 19200.
For a safe communication select 9600baud in EASY-Soft menue.
In my opinion MOELLER uses not the same serial protocol for 400/600 and 800/MFD also.
Maybe a gateway firmware update if possible can help or a setting change of your redirector/com-manager software.

Well ,thanks for the help ,but i did change the cable pc cab made for easy 800
i did upgrade the firmware and the redirector .
Still....no change
I am going to build a debugger to see what differences there are between 600 series and 800 series in communication.
What i really like to know if moeller did change the protocol and if yes ,what they changed ....
May be the version of the easy 800 which is v 03 is to low ?

And then maybe this will help to solve my problem ...
-The easy soft is really slow .
- i can read programs
-i can compare programs
- i can delete programs
but i cannot download programs and change parameters for the timers for instance (call is enabled )

Ernest,
EASY 400/600 works with "Sucom-E" protocol.
EASY 800 works with"Easy-Com" protocol.
Without guarantee!

I have an idea.
Make an ethernet trace with a sniffer and send it to your gateway supplier for analysis.
