Set point for function blocks
« am: Juli 30, 2009, 14:42:23 Nachmittag »
Dear friends,
I am using Easy 800 and MFD Titan. Can anyone tell me whether the setpoint changes that I  make from the screen will get changed if the power supply is disruppted if it is not done through retentive data blocks? I want to avoid using data block function to save on memory.

Also I would like to know whether data stored in shift register and table function block will be reatined after power failure.

Thanks in advance

Dear K.Vedaraman

As long as
- your inputs are related to marker bytes (words, double words), counters
  data blocks or timing relays
- the input is completed
- these items are declared as retentive
the values are stored in retained area and available after power supply failure.

Values of shift register or table function blocks in general are not retentive.

The easiest way to find out is to select a function at the diagram area and press the F1-key.
A function sensitive help screen appears where always the last item shows whether and
which parts of this function may be retentive.

Regards Maikky
