silly question, trying to connect easy806

So I can't get a pc to connect to an easy806.

power led good
smart wire led good
no connection light

Can't get a network to be recognized.

I have an ethernet cable connected.
Followed directions below.

Update: problem persists


The computer says that the ethernet wire is not plugged in.
Tried manually setting the ips, but still could not ping the device or get the light to turn on.

Is there another cable required additionally, or can an 806 be programmed from just a laptop with an Ethernet wire?
