LED Display
« am: April 20, 2006, 14:51:40 Nachmittag »
Is it possible to use an external LED display to display the current value of one of the analogue inputs?

I want to use a 719 to control water temperature and want to have the current temp and the asking temp displayed at the bath.

I thought of using a simple LED display and using the digital outputs.

Hi pluk77
In general I think it is possible but I wouldn’t do it in this way because you need 4 outputs (BCD Code) for one digit. To show a Number between 0 and 99,  8 otputs are necessary. Also the programm complexity is huge.

Wy do you not use an MFD TITAN? There is a big display where you can show values or numbers in a comfortable way. It is possible do display in 1, 2, 3 or 4 lines. (Exampel Picture: 1 line 3 digits)

You are right. I will probably go for an external counter display with binary input. That way I only need a max of 5 digital output ports for a range of 64.
