I/O and Expansion units

Before purchasing the MFD, I have a few things I want to clear out.

Originally, I want to have a combination of the following:

MFD-80-B (display)  +  MFD-AC-CP8-ME (power supply/CPU)  +  MFD-AC-R16 (I/O)

which makes sense

But then I realize that if I use the standard I/O module (MFD-AC-R16), the outputs won't be enough to suit my application.
So I checked the expansion units, then found EASY618-AC-RE, which is compatible according to the manual.

So my question is, can I use the expansion unit (EASY618-AC-RE) WITHOUT the standard I/O unit (MFD-AC-R16)
That would save me some money.

And if I am going to use the expansion unit, which cable do I need to connect it to the power supply/CPU and the display unit? Please provide me the specific part number.

please use the easysoft and try to make a project.

You will see that`s ok, if you connect the mfd with the expansion unit 618 without the MFD-AC-R16.

To connect the mfd with the expansion unit 618 you need a plug contact. This part is including in the

expansion unit.

You have a second option to get in total 6 outputs.

You may use the I/O-module MFD-AC-R16 with the extension unit EASY202-RE.

As far as I remember the price is the same or a little less, but the advantage is, that the
installation is "nicer". The Easy202 is much smaller than the EASY618.

But if I were to use the expansion unit, how do I mount the CPU unit and the display unit on the wall along with the expansion unit?

Is the part called "EASY-Link-DS"? I'm buying 2nd hand parts, I have to make sure they include it.

The connection indeed is called EasyLink. For reference see attached sheet.

Regarding the mounting I also attached a part of the manual. If you like to use the
Easy618 - expansion please note, that you need a 3rd support, because it is longer.

If you use the Easy202-expansion the 3rd support is not necessary. That's why I
think the installation is "nicer".
